Everything here restates a published instrument — a carriage convention, a statute, the Institute Cargo Clauses, the Incoterms rules, the letter-of-credit rules — and links to the source so you can check it. Where we could not source something, it is not here.

What the carrier owes

The treaty caps, the deadlines, and why a recovery is not the same thing as cover.

What the cover does

Clause levels, exclusions, duration, deductibles and the structures cargo is written on.

When something goes wrong

Notice, evidence, survey and recovery — in the order they actually happen.

Trade documents and terms

Where insurance meets the sale contract, the bank and the transport document.

Law and compliance

The statutes and rules behind the policy, and our own position in them.

How to use this alongside a quote

The premiums this platform shows come from our own rating tables and are indicative — no insurer has agreed to them and they do not bind cover. Everything in this library, by contrast, is somebody else's published rule: the caps, the deadlines, the clause numbers and the document requirements are facts you can check, and we cite where.

InsuranceScanner is an insurance intermediary, not an insurer — see the Terms for our role. Nothing here is a personal recommendation that a particular cover, sum insured or deductible is suitable for you. Where anything on this page conflicts with the certificate, policy schedule or wording issued by an insurer, that document governs.
